My papers are listed here. I've also presented a poster ('Pervasive Tools to Help Dyslexic Students') at a WWW2006 Satellite Workshop in Edinburgh, and presented my work to a multi-disciplinary audience at Cumberland Lodge's Beyond the Campus conference.Awards and recognition
Awarded various funding to attend conferences during 2009:- An International Travel Grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering (to attend PETRA)
- ACM Student Research Competition award (to attend Hypertext)
- ACM Scholarship (to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing)
Anita Borg Scholarship 2007 and 2008: I have been a finalist for this Google-run scholarship twice. The finalists' event, held in Google's Zurich offices, was an absolute pleasure, both times! I have met some wonderful (and very smart) people, and been lucky enough to have a day or so afterwards to explore the beautiful surroundings.
Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing 2007: I received a scholarship to attend this conference, which ran in October 2007.
SET for Britain 2007: I went to the House of Commons on 19 March 2007 to present a poster at the SET for Britain (Science, Engineering and Technology for Britain) event. This poster was titled Pervasive Technologies for Accessibility and Learning.
Past projects
Hyperfiction was an early research interest, resulting in my building StorySpinner. ECS hosts the StorySpinner webpage. My fourth year individual research project looked at pervasive technologies to aid students with dyslexia. Here is the report and the poster.
